The honing holder allows safe and easy maintenance of board shear and kutrimmer blades, without removing the blades, or having to ship them to a machine grinding shop. This heafty holder uses a standard 4 inch coarse Diamond Stone and is precision machined out of a solid billet. It keeps your hand at a safe distance from the cutting edge, though close enough to the blade to concentrate pressure at the cutting edge.

Simple to use; adjust the length of the diamond stone with the knurled brass thumbscrew, then slide it up and down on the bevel of the blade. Often, board shear blades are more worn near the handle, so concentrate pressure there. Fully adjustable for both upper and lower blades of board shears and kuttrimmers. This tool will cut down on the number of blade resharpenings in large or institutional settings. In a small scale, non-production shop like mine, I haven’t had to send my blades out to be resharpened in over 20 years using a similar jig.
